OSAC is Ontario’s first and only assessment center specializing in the diagnosis of neck and lower back instabilities.
We have assembled a powerful, highly qualified and experienced team to work together as Ontario’s only Multi-Disciplinary Radiology-Based Spinal Assessment Clinic. The Clinic screens for neck and lower back instability injuries using specialty motion X-rays. The X-rays can be taken at any facility in Ontario. The X-rays can then be forwarded to our x-ray laboratory for a comprehensive assessment.
Routine neck and lower back X-rays ordered by the E.R. or family physician do not involve specialty motion films. Spinal instabilities cannot be identified by routine X-rays taken in hospitals nor can they be identified by MRI.
X-ray results are then sent to the medical and legal teams. Reports are signed by both the clinic director and the staff medical radiologist. Spinal instabilities are graded by the A.M.A. Guides to Permanent Impairment as permanent impairments.
This objectivity is supported by the multi-disciplinary medical and chiropractic specialties. This combination is the support that is very often required in order to be able to extend insurance benefits for patients.
The Center’s medical radiologist report provides assertive support for both the rehabilitation team and the legal team.
